How to use TradingView?

Using TradingView effectively depends on your goals (e.g., chart analysis, backtesting, paper trading, etc.), but here’s a step-by-step beginner guide to help you get started:


1. Create an Account

  • Go to https://tradingview.comSign up using email, Google, Apple, etc.

  • You can use the free plan or upgrade for more features like more indicators, alerts, or multi-chart layouts.


2. Explore the Interface

  • Chart: This is the core feature where you analyze price movements.

  • Watchlist: On the right panel, you can add symbols to monitor (stocks, crypto, forex, etc.).

  • Toolbar: Left panel includes drawing tools, top panel includes indicators and settings.


3. Load a Chart

  • Search for a stock/crypto (e.g., AAPL, BTCUSD) in the top bar.

  • Click to open its chart.


4. Add Indicators

  • Click "Indicators" at the top.

  • Search for common indicators like:

    • Moving Average (MA)

    • RSI

    • MACD

    • Volume

  • Click to add them to your chart.


5. Draw and Annotate

Use the left-hand toolbar for:

  • Trend lines, support/resistance
